Sarah enjoys teaching slow, gentle, mindful practices through a therapeutic lens. She uses invitational language and cues to go inward, allowing students to find the right alignment for their own body. Sarah began practicing yoga in 1998 as a way to increase strength and flexibility but quickly found it had benefits for her mental health as well, helping to ease her life-long struggle with anxiety. She has completed over 1,000 hours of teacher training, mostly focused in therapeutic yoga and has been teaching yoga in Portland since 2013. She recently completed 800 hours of training in yoga therapy through Ajna Yoga College in Victoria, BC and is a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Sarah's classes and 1-on-1 sessions focus on working with the nervous system to decrease anxiety, depression, and pain and increase feelings of well-being and a connection with self. She especially enjoys working with people in times of transition, whether those transitions are voluntary or not.
