The Alchemy of Uncertainty
May 21, with Barbara Ford & E.B. Ferdig
- SomaSpace 4050 NE Broadway
Have you been feeling nervous, agitated, fearful due to uncertainty? Many of us are experiencing layers of uncertainty due to personal transitions or the state of our cities, our country, our climate. Sometimes it can feel like we're doing something "wrong" if we are uncertain, but this is not the case. It's a natural part of life that invites us to lean into the present moment in a unique way. This workshop will help you parse through your thoughts and emotions related to uncertainty. While fear and even shame can often accompany uncertainty, there can also be other gifts to explore, including mystery, creativity, connection and living our lives more fully. Learn embodiment practices to integrate and assist your nervous system through the process. Open your heart to the gifts that are unique to this moment in your uncertainty journey. This workshop will be led by Barbara Ford, and assisted by E.B. Ferdig. Barbara Ford is an arts activist, poet, and facilitator, offering events that explore the convergence of art, spirit, and community engagement. She has studied and worked with the eco-philosopher Joanna Macy for many years, and uses that work as a springboard to support others wishing to create a more just and beautiful world. EB Ferdig is a yoga therapist and a mindful movement guide. She is excited about intersections of body and spirit, and how we can harness these intersections to create a better world. She is dedicated to offering yoga practices so that all may reclaim their personal autonomy, and find meaningful ways to show-up for themselves and others.
