Meet E.B. Ferdig

I didn't come to this work from a place of having it all figured out. I came to it in the middle of a major life unraveling. In my mid-40s, I entered perimenopause and started gaining weight. I was a body-positive person — I didn't think much of it at first. But over time I realized that what I'd always known about taking care of my body just wasn't working anymore. And nobody had told me why.

So I started learning. Really learning. About what estrogen decline does to muscle mass, metabolism, sleep, and mood. About why the approaches that worked in my 30s were actively working against me now. About what midlife bodies actually need — and how different that is from what most fitness and nutrition advice assumes.

I began lifting weights, working with a coach, and eating in ways I'd never tried before. The changes were real. And I became determined to share what I'd learned with other women navigating the same transition.

I'm a certified health and life coach and integrated movement therapist. I work with midlife women through Unfold — an online movement and coaching studio — and through my coaching brand Gen X Women Rising.

My approach is science-informed, shame-free, and built for real women with real lives.
