Finding Refuge: Heart Work for Healing Collective Grief
with Michelle Cassandra Johnson
Many of us have been searching for ways to find refuge during the onslaught of trauma connected with Covid-19 and the heightened awareness of how white supremacy and systems of oppression harm us all but disparately. These collective experiences of trauma mean that many of us are holding onto deep grief. We live in a culture that in large part doesn’t make space for us to process our grief and if we do have space to do so often we process privately not in community.
This workshop is designed for us to turn toward our grief individually and collectively. It will be an opportunity for us to reflect on how our hearts are doing at this time and to begin to understand more about how to allow grief to move through us. It will include meditation, journaling, ritual, gentle movement and small group discussions.
Michelle is a social justice warrior, author, dismantling racism trainer, empath, yoga teacher and practitioner, and an intuitive healer. With over 20 years of experience leading dismantling racism work and working with clients as a licensed clinical social worker, she has a deep understanding of how trauma impacts the mind, body, spirit, and heart. Her awareness of the world through her own experience as a Black woman allows her to know, first-hand, how privilege and power operate.

Living with Intention in Challenging Times
with Bonny Chipman
It’s undeniable - the times we are living in are challenging, to say the least, and it is common to feel aimless, lost, and uncertain. Sometimes, just bringing in one intentional goal to our daily lives can help us reconnect with purpose and boost our self-esteem. Whether you are seeking guidance for wellness, personal, or professional life goals, this workshop will provide you with a foundation to meet them in a supportive and loving way.
Instead of shaming and guilting yourself into commitments that don’t truly serve you in the long-term, you’ll learn holistic ways of goal setting that honor your whole being and can provide you with a sustained sense of nourishment and self-worth, including:
Self inquiry: Get to know yourself better and what your needs, desires, and goals really are in a way that considers your whole self.
Manifestation & Planning: Once you have a clear goal or goals in mind, learn and utilize practical methods for making them manifest
Integration: Integrate these steps and practices into your life in a way that is sustainable, accessible, and serves YOU.
*This workshop will be held in a body-affirming environment which is free from “body checking, diet talk, size bias, food police, weight assumptions and narrow beauty standards.” (Borrowed from the Be Nourished website- benourished.org)
*This workshop will be primarily discussion based, but will also include gentle and accessible movement breaks, mindfulness moments, and journaling opportunities. A pre-workshop questionnaire will also be included. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring pen and paper.
Sliding scale pricing: $25, $35, $45
